La guerra es un acto social que se repite en todas las culturas y como tal refleja de forma especular las jerarquías sociales a través de trajes, insignias y ornamentos distintivos. En la sociedad azteca todos estos aspectos estaban perfectamente reglamentados y eran de gran complejidad, como se observa en las numerosas obras de arte, incluidos los códices que, junto a las crónicas coloniales, ofrecen abundante información y ayudan a recomponer el contexto militar, donde los dioses, los gobernantes y los guerreros intercambiaban sus atuendos y atributos sin piedad para el investigador…..
