La mayoría de las fuentes documentales sobre el imperio azteca afirman que éste mantenía una serie de guerras, de carácter ritual con los pueblos independientes, que denominaba xochiyáoyotl o guerras floridas. Al parecer, este tipo de guerra era genuinamente azteca. Establecer si el origen de las mismas es atribuible a este pueblo, analizar en qué consistían y el objetivo que pretendían, es el interés de este trabajo…..

The flowery wars. Most documentary sources on the Aztec empire assert that this one was a series of wars of ritual character with the independent villages, which it named Xochiyáoyotl or the Flowery Wars.
